As in previous years, Samsung has now opened a beta program to test the latest version of the system for multiple devices. While Samsung’s flagships for 2021 have already left it and received a stable version of Android 12, it is still running for older flagships. However, this should change for the series soon Samsung Galaxy S20 from the year 2020.

This was revealed by Samsung’s manager in Korea, who is in charge of managing the beta program. According to him, Samsung plans to release an official update with a stable version of Android 12 for the Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20 + and Galaxy S20 Ultra models sometime in January. In addition to the new version of the OS, they will also see a renovated superstructure One UI 4.0.

What changes will Android 12 bring?

The biggest novelty of the new version of the system is the new design language Material You. In this release of Android, Google not only changed the look of all elements, from system applications to widgets, but also gave users the ability to better customize the system. It will be possible to change individual colors in the settings, which will then be reflected throughout the system, whether in quick settings, widgets, system applications, but also in supported third-party applications.

Less obvious changes that still improve the user experience include optimizing performance and improving alerts. Google is also continuing its efforts to give users better control over their privacy. For example, Android 12 will give you the ability to give apps access to an approximate location only, or the system will alert you when an app uses a microphone or camera.

How is the competition?

The competition is also active in the updates. Huawei brought the December security patch to the system for the Huawei Mate 40 Pro model. The competing OnePlus 7 and 7T models also received the same update. The Nokia X20 has the Android 12 system again in Slovakia.
