Netflix captured the movie by Mega Man Vortex

Capcom’s Mega Man is headed to Netflix. Although the feature film was first discussed in 2015 and recalled in 2018, now the project has been recalled, focusing on this streaming service. The script and direction will be provided by Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman of Supermarché. Unfortunately, it is still unclear how far the project actually is and whether in recent years it has even progressed beyond finding a suitable partner when Disney threw it overboard.

Capcom previously stated that it wants to reach a wide audience with the film, not only players and rock fans, but generally fans of action movies. Last year, the filmmakers were lured that they would soon have some exciting news, and perhaps already at that time they came across ongoing negotiations with Netflix, which has a very positive attitude towards video game adaptations. The film was originally produced by 20th Century Fox, now known as 20th Century Studios, but it came to an end. Disney, which bought the famous studio, gave up the film. He repeatedly shows no great interest in games and, apparently, in their adaptations.

This is naturally not the first leap of Mega Man from the world of video games to other media. The series, which was created in 1987 and has dozens of titles, has repeatedly appeared on television or on comic book sites, among other games. The whole saga sold 317 million copies and it is worth noting that in Japan it is known as Rockman.
