App of the week: sync workouts between different sports apps
There are many different sports applications in the Play Store. Changing sports apps means that the accumulated history will disappear in smoke, but fortunately there is a solution.
SyncMyTracks
Sometimes there are very simple apps that are very good at what they do. SyncMyTracks is a good example of this. With this app you can easily use two or more sports apps side by side or switch to another sports app without losing your accumulated history, or worse, exporting and importing workouts one by one. Nobody is waiting for that and the developer of SyncMyTracks probably thought that too.
How does it work?
To get started: SyncMyTracks supports a whole bunch of different popular sports apps including Fitbit, Strava, Runkeeper and Runtastic. The app itself contains two options: ‘export & import’ and ‘account sync’. In the screen ‘export & import’, data from two selected apps is manually synchronized. For this you need to enter login details for both. There is a choice of activities to be synchronized such as workouts with or without GPS data and workouts in a specific time frame. The screen ‘account sync’ contains automatic synchronization between apps. Here too there is a choice of activities to be synchronized. SyncMyTracks synchronizes a lot of data including heart rate, temperature, time, duration, distance, pace and the route traveled. In addition, the app ensures that no duplicate workouts are processed.
There are also additional options such as creating a backup and setting an interval for automatic synchronization. You can also view a log and go through frequently asked questions.
availabilty
Would you like to try the app? Then the free app is a possibility. Only the ‘account sync’ function is disabled here. This is available again in the paid version.
