Samsung provides information about December patch: 18 own patches

Every month a new security update is released for Android. That is also the case with Samsung. The manufacturer now shares information about the content of its own patches for the month of December. In total there are 18 own patches from Samsung.

On top of the own security patch from Google itself, manufacturers usually add patches themselves. These are patches for the manufacturer’s own hardware or software. In total, for the December 2021 security update, this concerns a number of 18 patches that Samsung has added itself. Earlier, Google gave the update dozens of patches for the security of Android.

Samsung gives several details about its own patches it is rolling out. Not all patches are intended for all devices. This depends on various properties such as the Android version, the chipsets and other components. In any case, we see at Samsung for the month of December a patch for devices with a Snapdragon chipset from Qualcomm. We also see a patch for a small in the lock screen. The rest of the patches seem to relate to the software components in the devices.
