Huawei and Samsung have updated their smartphones
Two long-standing competitors, the Chinese Huawei and South Korean Samsung, launched updates to their older flagships this week. In the case of Huawei, these are even models from 2018.
The new update is coming to Huawei P20 and P20 Pro smartphones
The mentioned models are the Huawei P20 series smartphones, which the Chinese company introduced in March 2018. According to the portal, the update should bring them a December security patch and HarmonyOS version 2.0.0.216 within the Chinese market. The patch fixes one vulnerability in the framework, 2 in the kernel, 3 in the system, 3 in applications and 62 in third-party libraries.

- Huawei P20 EML-TL00
- Huawei P20 Pro CLT-AL00, CLT-AL01, CLT-AL001
- Huawei P20 Pro CLT-TL00, CLT-TL01
- Huawei P20 Pro CLT-TL00, CLT-TL01
The Samsung Galaxy S10 series has also received better security
Samsung has been distributing the December security patch for its devices since the end of November. Now it has the flagship smartphones of the Galaxy S10 series, which were introduced in early 2019. The update is numbered G97xFXXSEFUL1 and is distributed in the form of OTA in several regions.
The system in the Galaxy S10 series smartphones should notify you automatically when an update is available. You can also check it manually in the section Settings -> Software Update -> Download and Install. Before installation, make sure that your smartphone battery is at least 70% charged.
How is the competition?
Samsung’s competitors also bring updates for their smartphones. For example, the beta program Android 12 for the OnePlus 8 series models was recently launched. Other updated smartphones are POCO F3 or Xiaomi Mi 10T Lite
