The Tesla Model Y has received unexpected improvements. Intel replaced the processor with AMD Ryzen

The people of China, who decide to replace their old car with a Tesla Model Y electric car in the near future, will have a pleasant surprise. Engadget reports that Tesla has begun manufacturing the model with the AMD Ryzen processor, instead of the original Intel processor. This should provide drivers with a better user experience when controlling the vehicle’s infotainment system, which should now be a bit faster and smoother.

The AMD processor so far has only the Performance Tesla Model Y

The owners of the Performance version of the Model Y noticed the change, but Tesla usually uses the same processors for all variants of individual models. However, it is not yet certain whether future drivers of the S and X models will see a more powerful processor. It is also not known whether the change concerns only China or whether it will affect the rest of the world. The company did not comment on the situation.

The decision may have been influenced by several factors. Maybe it’s a response to the global shortage of chips, or the company is just trying to reduce costs. The possibility that AMD gradually plans to use processors in all its vehicles is also being considered. However, this hypothesis may be far from true, but even if it were, this transition would probably take several years.
