Flight Simulator forced the peripheral manufacturer to activity -apkrig
Although the initial wave of interest in the latest version of Flight Simulator has waned, the game from the developers from the Asobo studio remains the big thing in the field of civil flight simulators, which was significantly benefited by the July launch on the Xbox Series. The logical inclusion of the title in the Game Pass menu then opens the door to newcomers who would otherwise be reluctant to pay the full price for the simulator, and it is obvious that Asobo broadcasts revitalizes not only the series itself, but the entire genre. It is therefore not surprising that game peripheral manufacturers have also joined the event, responding to demand and trying to bring drivers to market that could also be used when playing on a console. It can be said that the PC market is relatively saturated with game levers, pedals, rams and other instruments, but Turtle Beach, Honeycomb and Thrustmaster are now trying to fill the gap in the console field.
The first mentioned manufacturer announced its controller during this year’s E3 – it is a VelocityOne device that combines aviation rams with a display and a number of controls with a power control panel for up to four engines and its own trimming disc. The design is not licensed by any manufacturer and can be used universally for small and large aircraft while maintaining a relatively high degree of authenticity. The VelocityOne driver does not have a fixed release date yet, but it is possible to register for the newsletter on the manufacturer’s website and be informed when the time comes. What’s more, in addition to the Xbox Series, where the driver can be used especially for the aforementioned Flight Simulator, compatibility with Xbox One and, of course, Windows is also planned, which also makes this 380-euro affair more attractive.
But while we had known about the Turtle Beach activity for several months, others also started playing at the Flight Sim Ex 2021 in San Diego. As for the Thrustmaster, licensed TCA Boeing Yoke Pack rigs are being prepared, which are a replica of Dreamliner controls. As in the case of the VelocityOne, these are rams with their own controls for checking the flaps, chassis and trims, and a panel for controlling the thrust of both engines and the aerodynamic brake. This panel also includes several other programmable buttons and their design corresponds to a real preview. The first information about the developed driver was provided by the FSElite portal, which also states that the official or full-fledged introduction of this driver is scheduled for November 9. For this reason, the preliminary price is not yet known, as well as the launch date. What is certain, however, is that the TCA Boeing Yoke Pack will be compatible with Xbox Series and Windows.
The latest news comes from the manufacturer Honeycomb, which announced a revision of its already mentioned driver Alpha Flight Controls at the mentioned exp. The three extra letters in the name – XPC – are intended to underline Xbox Series compatibility beyond the ability to continue to connect unlicensed rams to your computer. Compared to the original version of Alpha Flight Controls, the new controller is to be more accurate and further improved based on feedback from previous owners. Even more interesting, however, is that Honeycomb also plans to sell a special console hub for the Xbox Series separately, which will allow the connection of a control segment for motors and other instruments or pedals. However, support for the Xbox Hub does not end with Honeycomb products, but we already know that through it, it will be possible to connect additional Logitech peripherals to the Xbox Series. Potentially, the $ 30-priced device opens up another path and everything is starting to look very promising for aviation enthusiasts. Just to be clear, Alpha Flight Controls XPC will arrive with the Xbox Hub next year for $ 300.
And while the above information about the drivers is only a matter of the near future, we must also draw your attention to the release of the previously introduced Junkers Ju-52 transport aircraft. He launched the Local Legends initiative, which focuses on famous machines from the past in relation to individual regions or countries of the world. It’s a precision model in many variations, including a seaplane, but it’s not a free bonus and you have to pay $ 15 for it.
