These Samsung phones now also get monthly updates
Samsung will provide a number of recently announced phones with monthly security updates. A complete overview can be found here.
Samsung’s Update Policy
Samsung is currently leading the way when it comes to a good update policy. For example, the Galaxy S20 and Galaxy S21 can count on new Android versions for three years and security updates for at least four years. The Galaxy S20 series has already received a version update to Android 11 and can still count on the Android 12 and Android 13 update. The Galaxy S21 series will get Android 12 in 2021, Android 13 in 2022 and Android 14 in 2023. Samsung is even giving its high-end Enterprise smartphones five years of security updates.
The security updates are rolled out on a monthly and quarterly basis. The cheaper phones usually get an update every quarter. The phones below are now confirmed for monthly security updates:
The Galaxy A52s can count on monthly updates for three years, until the summer of 2024. After that, the phone will receive a new update every quarter. The Samsung Galaxy A52s will also receive three new Android versions, just like the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3.
