iPhone 12/12 Pro: a repair program for sound problems
Apple announces the implementation a repair program for iPhone 12 and 12 Pro concerning sound problems. According to the manufacturer, “A very limited number” of its latest smartphones have a sound problem.
Here is what Apple announces:
Apple has determined that a very limited number of iPhone 12s and iPhone 12s Pros are likely to have sound issues due to the possible failure of a component in the receiver module. The affected devices were manufactured between October 2020 and April 2021.
If the receiver of your iPhone 12 or iPhone 12 Pro does not emit any sound when you make or receive calls, your device may be eligible for this program.
It is indeed the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro that are affected by this concern. Apple specifies that the iPhone 12 mini and iPhone 12 Pro Max are not part of its repair program.
If you’re having sound problems with your iPhone 12 or 12 Pro, make an appointment to book a session at an Apple Store, go to an Apple Authorized Service Center, or contact Apple Support.
Your iPhone will be examined before any intervention to verify that it is eligible for this program. Also, if your iPhone 12 or iPhone 12 Pro has suffered damage that compromises the repair, such as a cracked screen, these will need to be repaired first. In some cases, you may be charged for this type of additional repair.
And last precision which is important: the repair of your iPhone 12 or 12 Pro is free if it does have sound problems.
