Samsung’s pre-orders for folding news break records

When he introduced two weeks ago Samsung its new folding smartphones with flexible displays Galaxy Z Fold3 5G a Galaxy Z Flip3 5G, so he did not only meet the tastes of foreign customers. According to management Samsung Electronics Czech and Slovak their pre-orders are also breaking records on the Slovak and Czech markets.

Pre-orders have surpassed the sales of previous generations for the whole year

Both smartphones not only brought higher performance compared to previous generations, but moved their possibilities a little further again. For the first time, folding smartphones have IPX8 water resistance and a display refresh rate of 120 Hz. The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3 additionally received support for the S Pen and a selfie camera integrated in the flexible display.

The icing on the cake is then the lower price, which is certainly one of the reasons for the interest of Slovak and Czech customers. He even exceeded all expectations in society. The number of pre-orders already corresponds to the year-round sales of the previous generation of folding devices (Galaxy Z Fold2 and Galaxy Z Flip) in 2020.

We had high expectations, but even those were exceeded. Once again, it shows how Czechs and Slovaks are progressive and hungry for new technologies. We launched the first version of smartphones with a flexible display in 2019. Now a certain break is coming. The third generation, which brings several important improvements, shows that folding smartphones have the potential to become the new common standard. Pre-order numbers confirm this.

The tipping model leads in pre-orders

Samsung also revealed the preferences of Slovak and Czech customers when choosing the color and memory of the news. In the case of folding smartphones, Slovaks and Czechs prefer the Galaxy Z Flip3 5G variant to the Z Fold3 5G variant. With the Galaxy Z Flip3 5G, the smaller 128 GB memory variant wins, and with the Galaxy Z Fold3 5G, the larger one with 512 GB of memory wins.

Our Slovak and Czech customers have been conservative in terms of colors for a long time. So it’s no surprise that black leads the way. However, we were positively surprised by the interest in the new cream color Z Flip3, which is chosen by about a third of people. For Z Fold3, it is green in second place.

The Galaxy Z Fold3 5G smartphone is available in Slovakia in black, green and silver. The recommended retail price is 1899 euros in the 12/512 GB version. The Galaxy Z Flip3 5G can be purchased in black, green, purple and cream with 8/128 GB internal storage for € 1,049 and the 8/256 GB version for € 1,099, which is available in black and cream

An even bigger surprise for the company are the sales of the new Samsung Galaxy Watch4 and Galaxy Watch4 Classic smart watches. Unlike previous generations, they no longer use the TizenOS system. For the first time, the South Korean giant used the WearOS system from Google in them. Along with the introduction of the watch, support for contactless Google Pay payments in the WearOS system in Slovakia was also announced.

However, what really caused our sledge fell, so these are the results of pre-orders for our new Galaxy Watch4 watch. It was confirmed that the possibility of contactless payment by watch is very important for Czechs and Slovaks. I know that Samsung customers have been longing for that for a long time, and I’m glad that we finally brought them this feature. Thank you for your patience.

So far, the Galaxy Watch4 Classic swivel bezel in front of the sportier Galaxy Watch4 wins the watch in the Slovak Republic and the Czech Republic. And again, the most preferred color of the watch is black, followed by silver in the Watch4 Classic and the women’s variant in pink gold in the case of the Watch4.

Galaxy Watch4 can be purchased in black, green, pink-gold or silver. The larger Galaxy Watch4 Classic is available in black and silver.
