Ghost of Tsushima: Forgotten Shrines

In the Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut you can explore the new island of Iki and discover three different Forgotten Shrines. We show you the locations and solutions of the ash shrine, the blood stained shrine and the shrine in the shade.

All Forgotten Shrines on Iki (Ghost of Tsushima)

On the island of Iki you can discover three forgotten shrines, which are marked with a corresponding symbol on the map. At each shrine you will find a small poem that gives you a clue about the solution to the shrine.

At each shrine you have to wear a certain armor and perform a special action in order to solve the shrine puzzle. This is followed by a small cutscene and you will get a reward afterwards.

Ash shrine – location and solution

Location: To the east of the island of Iki, north of the Yahata forest.

Poem (note):

In autumn a tree bears

Fruit, from seed to sapling

A stranger and son

Son, honor the father’s fight

Show the power of your blade.

Solution: Put on the Sakai Klan armor (you get it automatically in Act II after the story mission “Spirits of the Past”) and stand in front of the shrine. Then swipe right on the touchpad to drag your katana. A small cutscene starts if you’ve done everything correctly.

Reward: Helmet of War, Spartan Mask, Spirit of Sparta (Skin) – “God of War” -Easter Egg

Bloodstained Shrine – location and solution

Location: In the west of the island of Iki near the Conoura Cape.

Poem (note):

First spring green

Turns black, decays

Sick with blood and beast

Hunter, discard death

Fight human weakness.

Solution: Put on the kensei armor (you get for completing the mythical story “The six blades of Kojiro”) and heal yourself in front of the shrine (direction key down). You must have lost some life first before you can heal. Run up the cliffs next to the shrine and jump down for the fall damage. A small cutscene starts if you’ve done everything correctly.

Reward: Yharnam Helmet, Yharnam Robe (Skin) – “Bloodborne” -Easter-Egg

Shrine in the shade – location and solution

Location: In the south of the island of Iki, south of Buddha’s footprints.

Poem (note):

Stein does not know change

Same as the colossus that fell

To save souls

Wanderer strode through fog

Spirit that casts no shadow.

Solution: Put on the spirit armor (you get it automatically in Act II after the story mission “From the Darkness”) and stand in front of the shrine. Now throw a smoke bomb on the ground in front of you (hold the R2 button and select with the direction button down and then press the R1 button to throw). A small cutscene starts if you’ve done everything correctly.

Reward: Mask of the Colossus, Armor of the Colossus (Skin) – “Shadow of the Colossus” -Easter Egg
