Hellblade is even nicer on the Xbox Series -apkrig
Ninja Theory developers have released udpate for Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice from 2017, which optimizes the game to take full advantage of the Xbox Series. As is customary with similar updates, it will be possible to run the game on both Series X and Series S in three modes, which prefer framerate, resolution, resp. graphics quality. At the same time, however, there were improvements in materials, levels of detail of individual modes and textures, and developers also responded to the wishes of the community, so it is now possible to return to individual chapters and relive favorite parts of the game, or help yourself to some achievements.
In terms of individual modes, the more hardware-intensive Xbox Series X is understandably better than the weaker Xbox Series S, and the differences lie not only in the resolution, but also in the aforementioned frame rate. The performance mode on the Xbox Series X unlocks 120 fps, but without ray tracing and with dynamic resolution only up to 1080p. On the Xbox Series S, FullHD resolution is guaranteed without dynamic change, but the frame rate is halved. The second mode, which prioritizes resolution, can run the game on the Xbox Series X in dynamic resolution up to 4K at 60 fps and on the Series S in dynamic resolution up to 1440p at 30 fps. And the latest mode, fully dedicated to graphics quality, maintains the same dynamic resolution of up to 4K on the Xbox Series X, but reduces the number of frames to 30 fps and unlocks ray tracing. On the Xbox Series it is then stable FullHD resolution and 30 fps.
The reason why the update is coming at the moment is obvious – the first part of Hellblade was released on August 8, 2017 – but at least for the time being the update on which the game was introduced, ie PC and PS4, will not be updated. In the case of the first mentioned platform, players are supposed to be patient, but the developers have confirmed that the update is already in preparation. But on PlayStation, fans probably won’t see it at all, because other platforms in the sense of the next-gen update, they are not currently under consideration. Of course, everything is based on the fact that in the years after the release of Hellblade, the owner of Ninja Theory became Microsoft, which is obviously interested in protecting its game, even taking into account that it is going to continue. And they also briefly mentioned his account in the improvised Q&A section, where they wanted to dispel fears that the development of Hellblade II would suffer due to work on the next-gen update. The improvement of the original game was taken care of by the QLOC studio, which is also responsible for the version for Switch, which allowed the people of Ninja Theora to fully concentrate on the current project. So we’ll see if we hear anything new about it at the already confirmed Xbox conference on Gamescom, we don’t expect an update until then.
