Apple’s AirPower never came, but this new video shows a prototype in action.
You can count the number of fails from Apple on one hand. The American tech company usually does well with their own products. A fail in recent years was the AirPower. Apple failed to properly develop such a product by the company’s standards. This, while competitors came on the market with enough alternatives. A painful file. Now a video of an Apple AirPower prototype has surfaced.
The video was leaked via Giulio Zompetti on Twitter. The video shows how an iPhone is charging wirelessly via the AirPower. There is also an animation that indicates that the smartphone is indeed charging. It shows that Apple was in an advanced stage of development with the AirPower. It never came to a real product.
Whether Apple will ever come back with the AirPower, or whether all development will go to the trash? Time will tell. The fact is that Apple has invested a lot of time and money in developing the technology. It’s a shame not to do anything with it then. Even more painful is a second fiasco, so Apple will think carefully before doing something about this again.
