Digital Foundry indicates the great parameters of PSVR 2 -apkrig
We don’t even know the official specifications of the next-generation PlayStation VR yet, and the first observations from the respected Digital Foundry magazine are coming. Its authors mentioned in the last vidcast that the indicated properties look great. Specifically, it was Richard Leadbetter who revealed that usually very well-informed journalists saw some leaked technical specifications that looked good. And then some others that haven’t escaped to the public and look even better.
Leadbetter added that he is also looking forward to what Sony will show with the new special drivers, which are supposed to have haptic feedback. According to several sources from another trusted magazine UploadVR, the PlayStation VR 2 will have a resolution of 4000 × 2040 pixels, 2000 × 2040 per eye. The resolution of the current model is 960 × 1080 pixels per eye.
Bloomberg, on the other hand, claims that the headset will use an OLED display from Samsung. In addition, UploadVR says that the feedback will somehow be incorporated directly into the headset itself. However, it seems that it will be connected to the console with a cable, unless the manufacturer has changed his mind yet.
Sony officially announced the next generation of its virtual reality in February this year. It promises much greater performance and deeper immersion in the digital world. Later, it also showed new drivers with haptic response and adaptive triggers. Sony Interactive Entertainment chief Jim Ryan recently said that Sony trusts VR and we should learn more details within a year.
First games and waiting to use the power of the PS5
The manufacturer is still silent about when the novelty will reach the market. But there is speculation that this could happen next Christmas. However, this does not prevent developers from talking about PSVR 2. We already know the first confirmed games. Cyberpunk Low-Fi and Pavlov VR events will arrive on PS5. At the same time, it is logical that the authors of the games must already work with devkits if they are to accompany the new news with new titles as well.
The first generation PlayStation VR was launched in October 2016, and according to the latest official figures from the end of 2019, over 5 million devices have been sold. Within the backward compatibility, the original PSVR also works on the PS5, or it must work. Because PS5 games are not compatible with PSVR, so even on PS5, you have to play the PS4 version of Hitman if you want to enjoy it in virtual reality. However, it does not take advantage of the higher performance of the new console.
We repeatedly deal with PSVR of the new generation on Vortex. You can find more details about the upcoming headset in our older articles.
