Redmi introduced a new smart watch with an attractive price tag

The Chinese company Redmi, which is known in our region mainly for its mobile phones, has introduced new cheap smart watches. The performance took place yesterday on the domestic Chinese market. The Xiaomi subsidiary is renowned for its excellent price / performance ratio. It will not be different with their very first smart watch. This message was brought by the Gizmochina portal.

Redmi smart watches offer a square design, which is known especially for many times more expensive Apple Watches. A very simple but elegant design is used. The weight is at the level of a very pleasant 35 grams. The watch frame will be available in three colors, black, blue and ivory. The colors of the strap will be four in total, namely black, cherry pink, pine green and ivory.

Large display with great resolution

The size of the display with 2.5D curved glass is at the level of 1.4 ″. The pixel density stopped at 323 ppi, which is comparable to a much more expensive watch. For example, readability in direct sunlight remains questionable. More than 20 dials of various types are available.

In terms of features, Redmi watches support heart rate measurement, sleep monitoring, sitting monitoring and, for example, proper breathing training. They support 7 different sports, namely outdoor running, indoor running, outdoor cycling, indoor cycling, walking, swimming and free activities.

Mobile payments will not be a problem

Battery capacity has not been specified. It has been said that they will last a whole week on a single charge. Using the saving mode should not be a problem to get up to 12 days of endurance. The surprise in this price tag is the use of NFC for mobile payments. Of course, water resistance up to a pressure of 5 ATM is also present.

The price tag on the domestic market is set at 299 Chinese yuan, in terms of 40 euros. Pre-orders are currently running. Official sales will begin on December 1, 2020.

Do they have any competition at all?

Redmi set a very aggressive price tag. In a similar price tag, the problem is finding a similarly equipped smart watch. One option is to choose the Xiaomi Amazfit Bip S, which offer a much worse display but better battery life. Another option may be smart bracelets. Xiaomi Mi Smart Band 5 or Honor Band 5 come into consideration here.
