The authors of Deus Ex work on the Rangers of the Galaxy -apkrig
Square Enix opened this year’s conference at E3 with a demonstration of a new game from developers at Eidos Montréal. As speculated before the show, the Canadian team is actually working on the Rangers in the licensed game Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, and to top it off, the game will be released on October 26 on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series. In addition, the developers devoted enough time to the gameplay demonstration and focused on part of one of the many upcoming missions, in which they demonstrated the key elements of this lively action adventure, which draws on a comic book model and in many places resembles a popular film adaptation.
“Start Star-Lord’s jet boots and embark on a wild ride across space in this new adaptation of the Guardians of the Galaxy by Marvel,” the press release, which is decisive for the style of the game and its overall concept, attracts. Right at the beginning, we must remember the infamous evolving fate of Marvel’s Avengers, on which developers from Crystal Dynamics are working in collaboration with Square Enix. Unlike the Rangers, this is a live-service game, which offered a story part, but the focus is on separate missions, which players set out in cooperation to return to the base and repeat the whole process with the vision of more and more loot. However, the formula did not work and the players gratefully acknowledged after the announcement of the Guardians of the Galaxy that this time it will be a single player game, which can focus on storytelling and bring pre-prepared but refined moments on the desktop of the game. stock footage. The Eidos developers have also confirmed that the Rangers will not experience any DLC or microtransactions, so players will receive a complete package with all the content, which will lead to a journey through their own gameplay.

“A strong mix of science fiction, family drama and a rock’n’roll approach with a swinging aesthetic is the foundation of the Guardians of the Galaxy,” said Jay Ong, director of Marvel Games. He therefore expressed enthusiasm that in Eidos they were able to grasp these aspects correctly and promises that the popular group grate will literally shine in the game. As the first demo shows, the main and only controllable hero will be Peter Quill alias Star-Lord, but during the fights you will be able to give instructions to other members of the team and encourage them to make specific attacks. It was the demonstration of fights that could arouse the greatest interest, because it is definitely not a typical processing that you would probably expect from an action adventure with a superhero. But maybe it’s because the Rangers of the Galaxy are a bit others heroes, the duel is processed with a strong influence of Japanese RPG and allows perfect timing of attacks, sufficient tactical insight thanks to the slowdown of the duel and, of course, the mentioned merging with other characters thanks to instructions and selection of attack types.
The story is also processed in a unique way, which is, on the contrary, something we would expect from this series in all circumstances. In the demonstration, we were able to watch the part of the mission in which the Rangers deal with ideas on how to get money to pay fines so that they do not lose their ship Milano. In the dialogue elections, Quill decides on Groot’s plan, ie to sell it to the monster collector Lady Hellbender, but in the next choice, in the end for it monster for sale chooses Rocket. The dialogues are, of course, dubbed and it must be admitted that they look relatively fresh and relaxed, which fits perfectly with the whole concept of Rangers and the style that the players from the films know. In addition, Rocket made Quill’s decision remembers, by which developers wink at the system of possible consequences of their own decisions, which could result in relatively interesting situations. Rocket will remind Star-Lord of this choice the moment he decides to change it, and we guess there will be more similar moments in the game. Drax and his sincere and shocking remarks take care of humor in every situation, which are not meant to be ironic and therefore make it look funny. But there will be a lot of similar short conversations between team members in the demo, and if the developers win with them, they could be the axis of fun and inimitable spirit of the whole game.

An integral part will also be the soundtrack, but not the original, but a selection of popular licensed hits, mostly from the 80’s of the last century, which is underlined by the song Holding Out for a Hero by Bonnie Tyler, which was heard at the beginning of the sample. The fact that Quill loves similar music is underlined by the walkman behind the tape, which is always ready to complement a specific scene with falling music, which we praise again and thanks to that we have high expectations from the game. The question, of course, will be how the players will accept the described combat system and the fact that the characters do not have the faces of the actors who portrayed them in the film. Although we don’t see a big problem in this, comments in this direction have been heard quite often, but if this part also works with the Avengers from Crystal Dynamics, we see no reason why it would not be possible to get used to the Guradians of the Galaxy as well.
