‘Specifications Honor 50 and 50 Pro are on the street: on to Europe?’
Six months after Honor – formerly a subsidiary of Huawei – was sold to Chinese investors, Honor’s return to Europe seems to be approaching. Honor has developed specific variants of the Honor 50 for this, which according to rumor makers are supplied with the Google Play Store.

Honor and Google Play
Honor has been standing on its own two feet since December and therefore got more freedom of movement. As a result, Honor was able to launch the V40 5G in January with a Dimensity 1000+ chipset from the MediaTek factory. It was later announced that Honor has entered into partnerships with Qualcomm, Sony and Google, among others. The latter is especially crucial for Honor, given that the company is dependent on the Play Store for phones that will sell overseas – including in Europe and the US. With the 50 series, Honor is using the collaboration with Google for the first time.
After the local launch of the Honor V40 5G in China, we are now on the ‘eve’ of the Honor 50, 50 SE and 50 Pro launch. 91Mobiles writes this based on information it obtained from Ishan Agarwal. With the Honor 50 series, the Chinese company wants to break through worldwide. The company will launch the phones first in China at a launch event on June 16. Afterwards, local launch events may follow. No information about this has been disclosed to date.
Specifications Honor 50 Pro
Honor’s 50 series contains three devices, starting with the Honor 50 Pro. On that phone, according to Agarwal, you will find a 6.72-inch OLED screen with a Full HD + resolution. At the top of the screen are two selfie cameras, with 32 MP and 12 MP resolutions. Qualcomm supplies the necessary computing power on the Honor 50 Pro: the phone contains the Snapdragon 778G chipset. Honor is also known to give the 50 Pro a 108 MP main camera on the back, combined with an 8 MP wide-angle camera and two 2 MP sensors. Finally, for the battery, Honor provides a variant with a 4,000 mAh capacity, which can be charged with 100 watts.
Specifications Honor 50
One step down we find the Honor 50, which comes with the same Snapdragon 778G chipset, the same 108 MP main camera, a comparable 8 MP wide-angle camera and finally also two 2 MP sensors. Not all phone details are created equal. For example, the Honor 50 gets one selfie camera, with a 32 MP resolution, as opposed to the two selfie cameras on the 50 Pro. Under the skin, the larger 4,300 mAh battery can charge less quickly, with a maximum of 66 watts. Still, that may not be such a problem, given that the larger battery will probably also last longer with the smaller 6.57-inch Full HD+ OLED screen.
Specifications Honor 50 SE
The cheapest model in Honor’s upcoming 50 series is presumably the Honor 50 SE. A lower price also means that you can expect a lower level of performance. Honor switches to the Dimensity 900 5G chipset with the Honor 50 SE. Furthermore, we see that Honor uses LCD technology for the screen on the 50 SE, instead of OLED as on the Honor 50 and 50 Pro. With a 6.78-inch diagonal, the screen on the 50 SE is also a lot larger than the panel on the Pro and non-Pro variants. A larger battery does not provide this, which remains at a capacity of 4,000 mAh. Charging is done with a maximum of 66 watts.
In terms of cameras, the Honor 50 SE packs a single front camera, with a 16 MP resolution. On the back, the camera module consists of four sensors, with a 100 MP main camera, an 8 MP wide-angle camera and two 2 MP sensors.
Launch Honor 50 Series
Honor will launch the 50 series, which will include the Honor 50 Pro, Honor 50 and Honor 50 SE, on June 16. What Honor plans to do for the international launches of the phones is not yet known. It also remains unknown at the moment whether Honor plans to return to the Netherlands, or whether the company wants to focus on other European markets first.
It is clear that the company will come to Europe. Honor’s software on the 50 series, Magic UI 4.2, includes support for the Google Play Store. What do you think of the Honor 50 series? Let us know in the comments at the bottom of the article.
