Save photos from Gmail directly to Google Photos
You can now expect a button in a Gmail message that lets you save a photo attachment in an email directly to Google Photos. The button will be named ‘Save to Photos’ and will be placed next to the ‘Download’ and ‘Add to Drive’ buttons. When you preview the file, these buttons will appear. The feature is currently only available for JPEG files.

The ‘Save to Photos’ feature is now rolling out to all Gmail users, including those with a personal account. It’s a gradual rollout that will take 15 days, so it may take a while to see the feature.
If you already have access to the feature, you have a few more days to store as many files in Google Photos as you want before the service stops offering unlimited storage for free.
