In a press release, the Chinese brand Vivo confirms that it is implementing a three-year software monitoring program for some of its smartphones. This will be active in July 2021 for the X range.
At present, the fact that a smartphone can last for a long time is an important fact from an ecological point of view. In fact, the more the manufacturer offers it regular software monitoring, the longer the smartphone can last. If Apple is already ahead in this area, new manufacturers from China are often negligent. Among the brands that have recently arrived in Europe, Vivo confirms that its high-end devices will be entitled to software monitoring over three years.
Vivo will offer three major Android updates on its smartphones
A few days earlier, it was Oppo who had said that its Find X3 range would be entitled to a three-year follow-up. Another rising brand confirms this ambition: Vivo. The brand new challenger arrived in Europe announces regular updates for three years on some of its models. It is the smartphones of the X range that will be affected by this choice. Be careful, however, this decision will only be effective on models after July 2021. Devices such as the Vivo X51 5G, which we were able to test on MeilleurMobile, are not affected.
The new policy on software updates will be on smartphones marketed in Australia, India and Europe. The X60 range will not be affected either. On Android, the best students on software updates are Google with its Pixel range, but especially Samsung. Recently, the Asian firm confirmed the obsolescence of its high-end device, the Galaxy S8. Some manufacturers are still missing their homework on software monitoring.
