Apple also repairs iPhone 12 Pro / Max instead of replacing them

Last month, we learned that Apple is starting to repair the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 mini rather than replacing them. MacRumors reports that the iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max are now affected by this policy.

iPhone Rear System is available for iPhone 12 Pro and 12 Pro Max

Apple Stores and Apple Authorized Repairers have access to the iPhone Rear System. It is essentially a complete iPhone. The main difference is that there is no screen or photo block. The repairers take care of taking the customer’s phone, removing his screen and the photo unit, then putting the two components on the new support. This means that the screen and the photo block must not show any damage. If they have it, then the process will be different.

This iPhone 12 repair (regardless of model) rather than replacement is available in all countries where smartphones are available for purchase. Apple does not communicate publicly on this matter. But the manufacturer is warning its employees with internal notes. Apple lets them know that it is doing this to reduce the carbon footprint of every product it sells.
