Apple discontinues iMac Pro and empties inventory
Update Apple confirmed the end of the iMac Pro. The manufacturer is selling its last copies on the Apple Online Store.
[Article original] Apple seems to be on the verge of subscribing its iMac Pro. The Apple Online Store indicated the message “While stocks last” on the computer page. There is also only one model available for sale. It is impossible to create a tailor-made model.
Soon the end of the iMac Pro?
Apple launched the iMac Pro in December 2017. It was positioned between an iMac and a Mac Pro in terms of power. But it’s true that Apple hasn’t really touched it in a little over three years. Conversely, there have been upgrades for the iMac and a new Mac Pro saw the light of day in late 2019.
Are we to understand that Apple will put a definitive end to the iMac Pro in view of the message “Within the limits of available stocks”? Or is Apple looking to empty its stocks before the arrival of a new model? Both options are possible. But it is good to note that this type of message is not common.
Ming-Chi Kuo had mentioned last year that Apple was preparing a new version of the iMac Pro. But the analyst hadn’t been very talkative about it. It makes you wonder if Apple has not abandoned the project along the way.
