A new ad in Google’s “Fixed on Pixel” campaign features soccer star Megan Rapinoe wearing a new, sporty Pixel Watch strap in Coral.

New sporty Pixel Watch strap
On Thursday, the Women’s World Cup tournament started in Australia and New Zealand. In addition to the usual Google Doodle, ‘Fixed on Pixel’ chose Megan Rapinoe this time. The ad shows the Pixel 7 Pro in action, demonstrating the “Photo Unblur” feature on an old photo. In addition, we see Rapinoe using the ultra-wide-angle selfie camera to “get more fans in her shot.”
During the commercial, the American football star is also seen wearing the Pixel Buds Pro, along with a Pixel Watch that shows the Fitbit Active Zone Minutes. Notably, the smartwatch is equipped with a “Coral Watch Band” which, according to the fine print, will only be “available for purchase from Fall 2023.”
The strap is provided with holes that presumably contribute to better ventilation. That’s similar to how Fitbit touts its Sport Bands for the Sense and Versa.

The Pixel Watch is Google’s first smartwatch. The smartwatch has a round and minimalist design with curved glass and one dial on the side. The watch lasts up to 24 hours with its battery and has Fitbit integration.

Last year, a Coral Active Band surfaced in an email from Google, but it was never officially announced. Currently you can choose from the colors Obsidian, Chalk, Charcoal, Hazel and Lemongrass. The addition of another soft-touch fluoroelastomer strap is a welcome addition. It also seems that this band will be announced at the same time as the Pixel Watch 2. Furthermore, the closure of the strap seems to be identical to the current one and that would mean that the design of the Pixel Watch 2 remains unchanged.
The 30-second Google ad is accompanied by Shea Diamond’s song “Presence Of A Legend,” captioning it: “A legendary athlete deserves a legendary phone.
