Over 100 new emojis on your iPhone with iOS 17 – here they are

There are not only cool features coming to your iPhone with iOS 17, but also a lot of new emojis. This is what the new pictures look like!

Another batch of new emoticons is coming to your iPhone! With iOS 17, no fewer than 108 new emojis appear. These are completely new pictures, but also extensions to existing variants. For example, new family compositions and skin colors are added in Emoji 15.1, which is the version of the new update.

Due to World Emoji Day, all new emojis have already been revealed. These are probably not the final images yet, as they must first be approved by the Unicode Consortium. In addition, Apple often gives the emojis their own design, which makes them look slightly different. Are you curious about the new pictures? These are the new emojis.

This is what the new emojis look like

Of the 108 new emojis coming to your iPhone with iOS 17, only a few are completely new. The completely new pictures are a horizontal and vertical shaking head, a phoenix, a lime, a brown mushroom and a breaking chain. In addition, new family portraits will be added, in which different family compositions will be introduced.

All other new emojis are extensions of existing variants. Opposite directions of movement have been added to active images and it will soon be possible to adjust the skin color with more emojis. These images are therefore not really new, but they do provide a considerable expansion of the current range.

This is when the pictures appear

The new emojis will not immediately appear with the release of iOS 17 in September. Usually the new pictures are launched in the spring. So we can probably only expect Emoji 15.1 in the spring of 2024. Before then, the Unicode Consortium determines which designs are approved. It is therefore possible that not all 108 new emoticons will actually be released.
