Neither motorcycle nor scooter – but completely electric
With the CE 02, BMW presented an electric vehicle that cannot be classified in any of the conventional categories. It’s not quite an e-motorcycle, and it’s not quite an e-scooter either.
The company describes it itself in a press release as a mixture of both and characterizes the name E-Parkourer for the innovative concept. The CE 02 should play to its strengths, especially in urban areas, and navigate the driver safely and quickly through the heavy traffic.
The design of the vehicle strikes a similar note: in terms of style, it positions itself somewhere between a motorcycle and a scooter, without sacrificing a clear, chic look.
The E-Parkourer can draw on a maximum output of eleven kilowatts, which corresponds to 15 hp. This means that the CE 02 can be driven from the age of 16 – provided the driver has the right driver’s license.
In addition, another version with a rated power of four kilowatts (5hp) is to be offered, which is throttled to a top speed of 45 kilometers per hour.

This version is particularly flexible: In Germany, it can be driven with a regular car driver’s license and it is also suitable for 15-year-olds with an AM driver’s license.
Despite the manageable performance, the parkourer can refer to impressive driving characteristics. BMW promises a quick start and a top speed of 95 kilometers per hour for the eleven-kilowatt version.
Even on country roads, the e-vehicle should not be an obstacle. In addition, the CE 02 has a range of more than 90 kilometers according to WMTC.
In order to fully exploit the potential of the CE 02, BMW has implemented three different driving modes. The “Flow” mode is ideal for city traffic and lets the driver swim smoothly with the flow of traffic.
The “Surf” mode, on the other hand, brings a little more dynamic into play and is particularly suitable for country roads. The “Flash” mode, which enables a sporty, dynamic driving style, is available as an optional extra.
In addition, the CE 02 offers a variety of technical features. A TFT display provides the driver with all important information such as speed, charge status and more while driving.
Thanks to a USB-C connection, the smartphone can be charged while driving. With an additional holder, the phone can even be used as an extended display, should this be necessary. The BMW CE 02 thus wants to redefine driving in urban areas in a new, innovative way.
