Pixelate house in Street View

In the 3D view of “Google Maps” you can take a virtual walk through the world. If you don’t want your house to be visible to everyone in the Street View service, you can have your own property pixelated.

Faces and license plates are automatically alienated in Google Street View and are only blurred. For houses and land, on the other hand, you have to request that this content be made unrecognizable. This also applies to faces or license plates that have been overlooked.

A notice: After a year-long break, Google announces new Street View recordings in Germany. Previous objections will thereby become invalid. If you don’t want your house to appear in Google’s online service, you have to file an objection again. This is possible both before publication and afterwards.

You will receive a confirmation email about your application. After that, your request will be processed. It is impossible to say how long this will take. However, the request is often dealt with within a few hours. If your house has been pixelated on Google Street View as desired, you will receive another email.

Danger: Google only offers the possibility of objects and buildings in “street view‘ to pixelate. On Google Maps even areas can still be viewed via the satellite mode in the 3D view. In this way, pixelation can be avoided for some buildings.

These recordings are composed of various satellite and aerial photographs. Google justified the lack of possibility of obfuscation with the fact that the images come from freely accessible sources. In addition, according to Google, you can’t see so much in the 3D view that pixelation would be necessary.
