Why you really shouldn’t text in the car anymore
Sending an app in the car: don’t do it. Not only because you endanger yourself and others in traffic, but also because the chance that you will be fined grows by the day. That’s because the police have ordered dozens of cameras that can see if someone is behind the wheel with their phone. It is of course not only about using WhatsApp, but also about searching for another song on Spotify, making video calls with your phone in your hand or taking a photo. Phone in hand is fine on the mat: of course it already was, but the cameras can now see it much faster.
Fine for texting in the car
These are cameras that can see what you are doing behind the wheel 24/7. It is therefore no longer necessary to be caught red-handed by an agent: the camera sees it, photographs it and sends the whole thing to the Central Judicial Collection Agency (CJIB), which then sends you a fine. The fine is quite high: you will lose 380 euros for holding your device.
The photos are, incidentally, still checked by human eyes: you will not just be fined, the AD writes. How does the camera even see that you are texting? He watches you through your windshield and can film very well. You don’t come into the picture with your face, but your arm, your hand and therefore your phone. If, for whatever reason, you are in the picture with your face, those images will be anonymised. It seems to be extremely effective: if you drive past such a camera, the chance of being caught is more than 95 percent.

Smart cameras
Of course you have to keep your hands on the wheel anyway and especially not on your phone, but these super smart cameras are a way to make it even less attractive. And yes, especially that fine of course, because it is not for the cat. After all, you also buy a beautiful Google Pixel 6a for that, which you should of course not hold in the car.
