Google Arts & Culture is all about Leonardo da Vinci
He was a huge talent, Leonardo da Vinci, and is still seen as one of the great masters. It is therefore logical that Google dedicates a theme to the best man at Google Arts & Culture. In fact, a whole new platform has been set up called Inside a Genius Mind, in which you can learn more about what Leonardo da Vinci had to offer on a separate site. You get a whole tour in the mind and life of the man, based on information from 28 different organizations, collections and museums from all over the world.

Leonardo daVinci
Although the Mona Lisa and the Last Supper are his masterpieces, Leonardo was much more than just a painter. For example, he could think a lot, sketch and even be physically involved in flying. The idea that humans could fly really appealed to him. In addition to being an artist, he was also a scientist and an architect. In many of his notebooks you can also see those figments of the brain. There has never been so much work by Da Vinci available in one place.
Google has been given the opportunity to use 20 of those notebooks to collect 1,300 of the man’s pages. They include notes from when Da Vinci was 26 years old, all the way back to 1519, the year he died at age 67. Google has divided it into seven different parts, each part representing a different concept. Codex Atlanticus is about the mechanical inventions of the man (he actually invented the Fitbit, because he wanted to make a pedometer) and so there are all kinds of different parts of his life and interests that are on display for everyone to see. And play along, because you can also make Stickies using AI.

Finally, what is also very cool is the possibility to view the world of Da Vinci via Street View. You can then see which buildings were there then and still are today. This mainly concerns Vinci, where this creative centipede grew up. So if you feel like going to a museum, don’t have to pay anything and don’t have to leave the house, then you’ll be rammed with Google Arts and Culture this summer. You can find the dedicated Da Vinci website here.
