Laura Ponticorvo gave birth: ‘So so so grateful’
Laura Ponticorvo has become a mother for the second time. The YouTuber gave birth to a boy yesterday: “There you are, dear Cinco.”
The new mom writes on Instagram. “Born on June 28th and that just means I got to carry you all the way. Just 39 weeks and 5 days. I still can’t quite believe it.. a healthy little boy who has grown into a healthy body without the poisoning.”
Preeclampsia
Her first child, Giulia, was born at 34 weeks after Laura ended up in hospital with preeclampsia. This second pregnancy could not last Laura long enough. “The previous pregnancy ended so abruptly. I hadn’t washed any clothes yet, I felt the anticipation of being pregnant had only just begun… I suddenly had a baby in an incubator. That’s why it can’t take me long enough now. I’m really looking forward to becoming a kind of waddling duck, haha.”
Magic moment
Laura carried this pregnancy to term, healthy and well, and yesterday experienced a ‘beautiful and special delivery’, called Mother Assisted C-Section. “With this caesarean section, as a mother you lift your baby out of your belly yourself instead of the gynaecologist. This was a magical moment for us and we are so glad we got to experience it. A quiet delivery with a beautiful landing for our son, together with a great team around us who guided everything, making this really healing for us. Our little guy who just lays on our chest instead of in the incubator? Our man who can just go home? Yes! We did it!’
Laura closes with ‘Our Cinco Pietro Miracolo Allegro is here! Our little prince, your fifth (Cinco) miracle born in operating room 5 at 12:11, just add that together… This was his path, our path and it really should have all gone like this. ‘
