New details on the Google Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro

With the Pixel 7a, Google recently presented a very interesting mid-range smartphone that can even cause trouble for top smartphones. With the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro, the new top models will soon appear should change significantly, especially with the display.

At AndroidAuthority information on the screen characteristics of the new Pixel phones was revealed. The displays should have the following properties:

  • Pixel 8 Pro: 6.70 inch, 120 Hz, 2992 x 1344 pixels, 1600 nits (HDR), 490 PPI
  • Pixel 7 Pro: 6.71-inch, 120Hz, 3120 x 1440 pixels, 1000 nits (HDR), 512 PPI

Google sacrifices some resolution and pixel density with the Pixel 8 Pro compared to the Pixel 7 Pro (test), but massively increases the brightness. The case should remain the same size, only the corners of the cell phone should be slightly more rounded. This time, however, a flat screen is to be used. On the Pixel 8, the changes are even stronger:

  • Pixel 8: 6.17 inch, 120 Hz, 2400 x 1080 pixels, 1400 nits (HDR), 427 PPI
  • Pixel 7: 6.31-inch, 90Hz, 2400 x 1080 pixels, 1000 nits (HDR), 417 PPI

Accordingly, the display of the Pixel 8 should be a little smaller, but for that work at 120 Hz and also get brighter. Since the resolution does not change here, the pixel density even increases. The Pixel 8 should be noticeably more compact compared to the Pixel 7. The corners of the cell phone should also be a little more rounded here.

Pixel 8 finally sets itself apart

The Pixel 6 and Pixel 7 always sat a bit between the chairs when the Pixel 6a and Pixel 7a launched. With the Pixel 8, Google is upgrading and could turn the cell phone into a real insider tip. We’ll probably find out all the details in October, when the new Pixel phones will be presented.
