Having trouble getting answers to your messages or calls in WhatsApp? That could be a sign that the other person has blocked you. Here are some common signs that may indicate you’ve been blocked on WhatsApp:
- Profile picture and status: You can no longer see the person’s profile picture and status or it may have changed. Instead, you will see a default profile picture and/or an empty status.
- Last seen: You can no longer see the person’s Last Seen information. This means you can’t see when they were last online.
- Message statuses: Your sent messages only have a single gray tick (sent) and never update to two gray ticks (delivered) or blue ticks (read).
- To call: If you try to call the person, the call may not ring or may end immediately.
- Group Chats: If the person is part of a group chat that you’re also a member of, you may not see messages from them, but you will see messages from other members.
- Invitations: You cannot invite the person into another conversation
- All your messages will be ignored and presumably also if you contact them via other apps
It is important to note that these clues are not definitive proof of a block. There may be other reasons why you don’t see someone’s “Hello! I’m using WhatsApp” status, for example. This may also be due to technical problems or privacy settings of the other person. It’s also possible that the person hasn’t seen your messages or is just busy. If you want to confirm if you’ve actually been blocked, it’s best to contact the person directly (via another means of communication, of course) to discuss it.
