New EarPods are coming
The EarPods were the predecessors of the current AirPods. The older earbuds still had a cable that you could connect to your iPhone via a headphone jack. When the headphone jack disappeared from the iPhone 7, Apple included an extra cable. This allowed you to connect the Earpods to your iPhone via the lighting port.
Apple is now working on a new version of the EarPods. According to a tweet from ShrimpApplePro, the new EarPods will have a USB-C connection. This indicates that the iPhone 15 will also have a USB-C connection.
Still, Apple is probably not going to give everyone a set of new EarPods with the iPhone 15. Since the iPhone 12, Apple has stopped giving free earplugs with their smartphone. However, there is an exception.
In France, Apple is required by law to provide earplugs with the iPhone. That is why the iPhone 15 in France will probably receive the EarPods.
According to Ming-Chi Kuo, the EarPods and the iPhone 15 are not the only Apple devices that are switching to USB-C. The charging box of the AirPods, the MagSafe Battery Pack, the Magic Mouse and more will also receive the new connection, according to the reliable Apple expert.
Buy AirPods
Do you not want EarPods (with wire), but are you looking for wireless earplugs for your iPhone? Or are you ready for an upgrade? Then you first have to decide which AirPods you want to buy. The AirPods Pro and Pro 2 have noise canceling (noise reduction). The AirPods 1, AirPods 2, and AirPods 3 don’t.
So are you looking for noise-canceling earplugs? Then we recommend the AirPods Pro 2. Do you want Apple earbuds for a lower price? Then choose the AirPods 3.
