The MIUI system, a graphical extension of the Android used in the Xiaomi, Redmi and POCO phones, is very popular among users. It looks quite nice, has a lot of interesting gadgets and under normal circumstances it is also brisk. Its latest serial release is version 12, which is currently (or will soon be available) in almost all mobile phones of these brands in recent years. Users have been waiting for her, and some are still waiting with enthusiasm and open arms, however sometimes the resulting impression is not entirely good. It is not uncommon for a mobile phone to be worse off and generally slowed down after an upgrade to MIUI 12.
This is either due to imperfect tuning of the system in relation to the given model, or the phone is simply too old to handle the operation of this superstructure perfectly one hundred percent. Fortunately, it exists a few ways to help such a congested cell phone. We will now show three that are directly related to MIUI 12, very simple and should generally make it a little easier for any Xiaomi, Redmi or POCO phone that has problems with this version of the extension.

How to slow down a cell phone with MIUI 12? Try these three steps…
1. Turn on automatic cache clearing. Android basically works with applications in such a way that it keeps a large part of their content in the phone’s cache (RAM) in order to load them as quickly as possible after switching on or switching on. It logically follows that when you have a lot of them running (even in the background), the system is then slower and slower. For older and less powerful mobile phones, of course, it’s a lot to know. In MIUI 12, there is a tool that runs this way application “throws out” the cache. Under standard circumstances, this is more of an unwanted thing, but if you have problems with the speed of your mobile phone, try it. On your MIUI 12 phone, go to Settings> Battery and Performance and find Clear cache when device is locked. Set ideally for 30 minutes. As soon as you lock the phone, it will empty the RAM after this time.
2. Reduce animations. The MIUI system is packed with various effects, graphic transitions and especially animations. What often gives the impression of slowing down in the eyes of users and at the same time exploits the system is their length. If you shorten it, the phone’s processor will be relieved and then of course they will come to your eye device response faster. How to do it? Truncating animations requires access to Developer Options. Find three settings with animation scales in them and switch them all to 0.5x. If you don’t have access to Developer Options, take a look at the green box.
How to allow access to Developer Options in MIUI 12?
Go to Settings and open the About menu. Then start clicking MIUI Version. After a few clicks, a message appears stating that Developer Options has been made available.
3. Clear the Launcher’s MIUI memory. Of course, the basic “launcher” of applications, which is also responsible for sorting them on the desktop, also has its own cache. Its excessive size can also result in a slowed down mobile phone in MIUI 12. Tuto you can clear the cache from time to time by going to Settings> Applications, you will find MIUI Launcher there (for example, quickly via the search at the top) and on its tab at the bottom right, select Clear Data and Clear Cache. Note that this step may return the icons on the desktop to their original positions.
