Obi-Wan Kenobi: Ewan McGregor wants a season 2, but Lucasfilm is not interested
Ewan McGregor would like a season 2 of the series Obi-Wan Kenobi see the day. But nothing is signed for the moment and Kathleen Kennedy, president of Lucasfilm, makes it clear that it is not even in development.
“It’s not in active development”Kathleen Kennedy told variety about a potential season 2 ofObi-Wan Kenobi. “But I never say never, because there is always a possibility. This series has been very well received and [la réalisatrice] Deborah Chow did a spectacular job”she added.
“Ewan McGregor really wants to do another one”she continued. “Everyone is on deck with what we’re doing right now, as you can see with what we’ve shown everyone [à la Star Wars Celebration]. We will look into this project again, maybe later.”.
The Star Wars Celebration was indeed the occasion to have several announcements. In particular, there was the trailer for the series Ahsoka which focuses on the character of Ahsoka Tano. There is also a release date for season 2 ofAndor, just like there was the announcement of three new Star Wars movies, including one starring Daisy Ridley (who plays the character of Rey). On the other hand, The Bad Batch was entitled to a season 3 and Star Wars: Visions released a trailer for season 2.
