Google app gets immensely large search bar on Android
Last year, Google announced that a completely new layout and better suggestions for its search engine are on the way. Some of those functions are already in the Google app, except for the new and larger search bar. It was already there for iOS, but is now also available on Android (and you can’t miss it).

Incredibly large search bar in the Google app
The search box in the Google app is a normal size for most, not too big and not too small. Now some people see a search box in the Google app that is as much as twice as large. 9to5Google discovered this in version 12.14 of the beta version of the Google app. This makes the microphone and the Google Lens icon look very small and you can take off your reading glasses.
There are also a few new smart features under the large search box:
- Buy products shown in your screenshots
- Translate text with your camera
- Find a photo from your library
- Solve homework with your camera
- Identify a music track by listening to it
Furthermore, no significant changes were found in the Google app. Fortunately, the immensely large search bar has not yet reached the editors. While here we are on version 14.13.11.29 of Google app beta. Hopefully it will remain a test and we will not see the large search bar in the stable version of the Google app. We don’t know for sure, since iPhone owners should also look into it.
