iOS 16.4 beta 2 restores animation for turning pages in the Books app
Apple today released the second beta of iOS 16.2 on iPhone and iPadOS 16.2 on iPad. This version does not include many new features (unlike the previous one), but there is at least some change for Apple’s Books application.
For years, Apple’s Books application offered an animation when turning pages, as is the case with a real book in your hands. This animation disappeared with iOS 16, since Apple decided to review its application and modify several elements. The removal of the animation had disappointed several users.
That’s where the second beta of iOS 16.4 comes in to restore the old behavior and regain the animation when turning pages in the Books app. All you have to do is activate the new option that is present in the “Themes and settings” section. You have the choice: the animation like iOS 15 and previous versions or the behavior since iOS 16. To choose the option, just choose a book and then touch the icon at the bottom right of the icon.
Apple does not yet say when the final version of iOS 16.4 will be available for everyone to download. There is also no information regarding the number of betas that will be available for developers and public testers.
