In the coming years we will undoubtedly see more devices with support for connecting via satellite. This is now also reflected in the Cat brand, which is presenting the new Cat S75 in Barcelona. Just like the other models of the brand, the device is robust and ensures that you are easily accessible even under the toughest conditions. In addition to 5G, there is MediaTek’s NTN chip, which also allows you to connect to the geostationary satellites located 37,500 kilometers above the Earth. This way you can always send or receive a message, or send a distress signal.

The robust smartphone must survive drop tests from 1.8 meters on steel and is dust, sand and dirt resistant and waterproof for up to 35 minutes at 5 meters. It can also handle vibrations, high-pressure jets, salt fog and more. There is a 6.6-inch screen with Full-HD+ resolution, a MediaTek D930 chipset, 128GB of storage space, 6GB of RAM and a triple camera. This offers a 50 megapixel main lens, 8 megapixel wide angle and 2 megapixel macro. The 5000 mAh battery can be charged 15W wired, but wireless charging is also possible.

It is striking that the Cat S75 comes with Android 12. You can be sure of an update to Android 13 and 14. The device will receive a security update every quarter for a period of three years. The price of the smartphone is 599 euros. You get three months of Bullitt Satellite Messenger Essentials as a gift, which allows you to use satellite services.
