Meta will open its metaverse academies in France in December
Meta, Facebook’s parent company, announces the opening of the Metaverse Academy in Nice. This is a free school entirely dedicated to the metaverse, in partnership with Simplon.co, a social and solidarity-based digital training company, the Nice-Côte d’Azur Metropolis and the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur Region. .
With this initiative, Meta says it wants to support job creation and training for new professions related to the metaverse in the South region, which has a flourishing digital ecosystem.
Located in the heart of the Center Européen d’Entreprises et d’Innovation (CEEI) in Nice, the largest incubator for start-ups on the Côte d’Azur, the Nice metaverse academy will open its doors from December 5, 2022. Students will benefit from a first phase of an intensive individual training session lasting three to four months, followed by a second phase of 15 to 16 months on a work-study basis within local partner companies of the school. A dozen companies have already committed to recruiting a work-study student at the end of the training program, including Accenture, Virteem and Tequilarapido.
The training will be dedicated to learning the profession of designer developer specializing in immersive technologies (virtual, augmented and mixed reality) and metaverse, which is on the list of emerging professions identified by France Skills and considered to be in tension on the market. ‘use.
For this first class in Nice, around twenty students are expected. This is the second school in the South region, with Marseille, which is also scheduled to open on December 5. Further openings are planned in Paris and Lyon in the coming weeks. A total of one hundred students will take part in this first pilot year. Other cities and formations may follow.
