Google is remodeling the Play Store
The Play Store for smartwatches with Wear OS as the operating system now looks different. Google has provided an update for compatible smartwatches such as the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 and 5. In comparison, the Play Store now appears busier and less text-heavy.

Wear OS: Play Store rebuilt for smartwatches
The new design was first seen at the presentation of Samsung’s Galaxy Watch 5 (Pro) smartwatches in August, and now it’s official. If you have a smart watch with the latest version of Wear OS, you can now see the new variant of the Play Store. The rollout has started and should be completed in the next few days.
In a direct comparison with the predecessor, Google is the same approached several construction sites. Overall, the app store for smartwatches is now less text-heavy, which is an advantage on smaller displays. Users are more encouraged than before to download new apps to their watch.

WearOS apps can also be installed from the mobile phone
In the new Play Store for smartwatches, Google uses its own button to indicate that Apps also from the smartphone can be installed on the smartwatch. A tap on the button opens the Play Store on the accompanying mobile phone.
