Instagram Reels can now also be posted on Facebook

Meta is trying to make it easier for its users to share Instagram Reels on Facebook. According to the tech giant, this should allow content creators to expand their audience on both apps and thus generate revenue on both platforms.

Crossposting just got easier

Meta is currently rolling out several updates to its apps, which it crosspost between the two platforms should be easier, reports Engadget. First, it should now be easier to post Instagram Reels from Instagram to Facebook Reels. This can be done at the push of a button.

In addition, Facebook now offers the option to automatically create Reels using the Stories you’ve already shared. The idea is to help people create Reels without much effort. Furthermore, Facebook has been given more Remix options, which Meta previously brought to the Reels in Instagram.

You can now also get the sticker Your turn Paste on a Reel in Instagram or Facebook. This allows you to induce others to create a Reel as well. You add a prompt to the sticker such as “Share the last photo you took” and anyone can now create a Reel with their most recent photo added to it. The person who created the prompt also appears prominently on the page. If your prompt gets a lot of use, it can help you grow your audience.

According to Engadget, you’ll soon be able to tip your content creators on Facebook, and these creators will also have access to more Reels insights through Creator Studio. There are statistics such as reach, minutes viewed and average watch time. This way they can find out which content works best.

In this way, Meta hopes to keep up with the hugely popular TikTok. Meanwhile, TikTok strikes back by making it possible to share the Stories on Instagram and Facebook. Meta is of course not very happy with these recycled videos and shows it. Only the sticker is present on the editorial board. The other options are not there yet.

Among young people, Instagram and TikTok are also popular for finding answers to their questions. 40 percent of Gen Z youth use these apps before a Google search.
