T-Mobile, Tele2, Simpel and Ben extend free calls and texts to and from Ukraine
During the war in Ukraine, T-Mobile, Tele2, Ben and Simpel introduced that free calls and texts could be made to and from Ukraine. This measure will be extended, and information will also be provided about how it will be arranged at the four providers in the future.
Calling and texting to and from Ukraine
Until September 30, 2022, calling and texting between Ukraine and the Netherlands will remain free for customers of T-Mobile, Tele2, Simpel and Ben. The four providers have announced this news; both for subscriptions and prepaid connections. On February 25, the day after the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the four providers announced that texting and calling to and from Ukraine would be free of charge. This is now the case until the end of September.
Changes will be made from 1 October, which means that it is no longer free of charge. T-Mobile, Ben, Simpel and Tele2 will then temporarily place Ukraine in the countries with the lowest international rate. This means that calling will cost 0.23 euro cents per minute and 0.07 euro cents per SMS. Normally, this rate is 1.02 euros per minute and 0.25 euro cents per SMS.
For the time being, news channel Ukraina 24 will also remain available for T-Mobile Thuis customers. The channel can be found on channel 420. In recent times, T-Mobile has made 10,000 SIM cards available for free to Ukrainian refugees. These cards are all provided with a new data bundle of 50GB. T-Mobile has bundled the information about this on this page.
