7 billion people spend an average of 1.5 GB of data per day

There are about 7 billion people on Earth, and each spends 1.5 GB of data per day, calculated on an individual basis. It’s a huge amount of data, by comparison – in 1992 all mankind spent only 100 GB of data a day. These are interesting numbers – finally another interesting number – 64 TB, exactly how much data is able to process one fully autonomous vehicle. The message is brought by HuaweiCentral.

The number of transferred data will increase

There is no indication on the horizon that the number of transferred data should decrease or slow down, quite the opposite. With the advent of 5G, autonomous vehicles, an expanding network of smart home accessories, etc. an additional increase is expected. More than 1.5 million 5G antennas from 176 ISPs have already been deployed worldwide. Today, the 5G network has more than 520 million users. This is a small number compared to the whole population (7 billion), but it will definitely increase in the future.

Everything is gradually transferred to digital – our documents, music, information, communication, work, study and more. The more available this technology, the more the volume of data transferred will grow. However, mobile operators should not stand in the way, who today, at least in Slovakia, ask for a fairly decent amount for each gigabyte transferred. This slightly limits the willingness of users to transfer larger amounts of data over the mobile internet.
