6 features that the Apple Watch Series 7 really should have

September is getting closer and that means only one thing for Apple lovers: new gadgets! In this Apple Watch Series 7 wish list, we let Apple know which features should not be missing. Do you agree?

Read on after the ad.

Apple Watch Series 7 wish list: we hope for these improvements

The rumors surrounding the Apple Watch Series 7 are almost impossible to keep up with. Information about the new watch is leaked almost daily. As a result, we already know quite a lot about the design, specifications and functions of the Series 7.

However, a person is allowed to dream and that is why we do not limit ourselves in this article to rumours. Instead, we’re publicly passing on our Apple Watch Series 7 wish list to Apple. Are you reading along?

1. Glucose meter

Is it coming or not? In recent months, there has been much speculation about the possible addition of a glucose meter to the Apple Watch. This sensor must be able to measure the sugar level of the wearer.

It would therefore be especially beneficial for people with diabetes: thanks to the glucose meter, they no longer have to draw blood. According to the latest rumors, the sugar meter would not appear until next year (on the Apple Watch Series 8).

2. Health: measure body temperature and more

Another health feature that we do like: the addition of a sensor for measuring your body temperature. Your temperature says a lot about your general health and it would therefore only make sense if the Apple Watch got a special sensor for this. After all, you wear the watch almost all day.

We also hope that Apple expands existing health features, such as workout stats. For example, it would be great if you could view detailed heart rate zones of your training after your run.

3. Bigger Battery

What good is a luxury smartwatch without good battery life? Pretty little. We therefore hope that Apple will (considerably) boost the battery capacity of the Series 7. Watches’ batteries have not gotten much bigger in recent years, although we do use them more and more intensively.

For example, the Apple Watch Series 4 (from 2018) has a battery capacity of 292 mAh, the Series 5 296 mAh (from 2019) and the Apple Watch Series 6 (from last year) 303.8 mAh. Now, of course, it differs per person how long you can use the smartwatch, but an average battery life of three days would be acceptable in our opinion.

4.Smart band

Speaking of battery life, how cool would it be if you could recharge your Apple smartwatch on the go? We are considering the possibility of arranging this with a so-called smart band. This smart wristband has an internal, small battery that charges your Watch while you wear it.

Is the smart band empty? Then you recharge it when you get home. The principle therefore works the same as charging with a power bank on the go. Of course you can simply replace the smart wristband in this example for another one, just as is already possible.

5. New design, thinner bezels

If we are to believe the rumors, the Apple Watch Series 7 is getting a makeover. The smartwatch would copy the design of recent Apple products such as the iPhone 12, iPad Pro (2021) and iMac (2021). So get ready for an angular design, upright edges and ‘hard’ corners.

We especially hope that Apple will be able to reduce the size of the bezels, i.e. the black edges around the screen. By keeping the bezels as small as possible, you increase the available screen capacity, without the size having to grow with it. Another possibility is that Apple will increase the standard sizes (40 and 44 millimeters).

7. Price and LTE version in the Netherlands

It should not be missing from this wish list for the Apple Watch Series 7: the price. Let’s hope Apple sticks to the Series 6’s introductory price.

In our opinion, the only reason to implement a significant price increase is the arrival of an LTE version in the Netherlands. Now you can only buy the WiFi version of the Apple Watch in the Netherlands. That is annoying, because you are always dependent on the availability of an (open) network.

In other parts of the world, Apple sells LTE versions of the Watch. These use a mobile network (4G or 5G) and therefore have an ‘independent’ internet connection, just like your iPhone. Realistically, however, we do not think that the Series 7 will have an LTE option, because Apple depends on the help of Dutch providers for this.

Apple Watch Series 7 release

And that was our wish list for the Apple Watch Series 7! That leaves one question: when can we get started? The Apple Watch 7 will be released this fall. Normally, Apple presents new products in September.

Rumor has it that the annual Apple presentation in 2021 will take place on September 14. Then not only will the Series 7 be unveiled, but we will also see the iPhone 13 and any other upgrades.
