iPhone 14 Pro: 4 new features you should check out
The iPhone 14 Pro and the iPhone 14 Pro Max have a number of new features that you should check out if you have just set up the iPhone. These settings are specific to the iPhone 14 Pro (Max) and can therefore not be found on the regular iPhone 14.
iPhoned has already listed the most important of these settings and functions for you. Go through them briefly, then you know for sure that your (new) iPhone will be set up completely according to your wishes!
1. Taking photos in 48 megapixels
The iPhone 14 Pro (Max) can take photos in 48 megapixels. Secretly he always takes pictures in this mode, but your iPhone automatically merges 4 pixels and then makes 1 pixel. The result is that you still get a 12 megapixel photo.
If you really want a 48 megapixel photo, you have to set this. You do that in the following way.
- Go to Settings’;
- Scroll down and choose ‘Camera’;
- Tap ‘File Formats;
- Turn on the ‘Apple ProRAW’ function;
- Below it, choose ’48 MP’.
NB! You must also turn on the function in the camera app. You do this by clicking the ‘Raw’ button. When you take 48 megapixel photos, the files are a lot larger. An average photo will cost you 60 to 70MB of storage space.
2. Set the low light action mode
Every iPhone 14 has a new action mode that reduces vibrations and movements in videos that you make yourself. To turn on action mode when shooting a video, tap the button in the top left corner (the little man running icon) in the camera app.
To use this option you have to shoot in places with a lot of light. You can also turn on the option in the settings of your iPhone so that you can use the function in poor light conditions. You will lose a bit of the stabilization.
- Open the ‘Settings’;
- Go to ‘Camera > Record video’;
- Scroll down and turn on the slider at ‘Action mode less light’.
3. iPhone startup sound
With the iPhone 14 you can now set a new startup sound (and shutdown sound). It is striking that this new function is really only available on the iPhone 14 models. You can find this option here:
- Open ‘Settings’ and go to ‘Accessibility’;
- Go to ‘Audio/Visual’;
- Turn on the slider at ‘Sounds for turning on and off’.
4. Turn on or off the always-on display
Another new feature on the iPhone 14 Pro (Max) is the always-on screen. When you lock the iPhone, the screen normally goes black. But with the always-on display, you can still see the time (and even the background) on the screen.
The options for the always-on screen can be found in ‘Settings > Display and brightness’. Knowing more? Then read the article below!
