Not everyone is already familiar with the principle of crowdfunding, and that is normal. It’s still a relatively new concept, but one that can help creative people make a difference. You first support a great idea for a product, and then you can follow the progress until the package arrives at your door. These are the four coolest gadgets on crowdfunding websites.
1. Bird Buddy – Smart bird feeder

What is it?
A real gadget for bird lovers, the Bird Buddy: is a bird feeder equipped with a 5 MP wide-angle camera and a microphone. Whenever a bird comes to dinner in your backyard, you get a notification on your phone. You can then follow the livestream and watch it up close. That way you can also take pictures of your winged friend.
The accompanying app can identify birds based on the images you have made and your profile will show which bird species have already visited you. The camera module is detachable and you can charge it via USB-C. Optionally, there is a solar panel that you can combine with the Bird Buddy. 2. Adriano – Uses your old smartphone as a smarthome hub

What is it?
Smart home devices are only really smart if they are interconnected. That’s what Adriano aims to provide as the centerpiece of your smart home. It basically serves as a holder for your old phone or tablet and the accompanying app brings all your smart cameras, lights and plugs and other devices together.
Furthermore, it comes with a motion sensor and it uses your phone’s microphone and camera so that you can livestream and have conversations with people remotely. The Adriano listens to voice commands to control your smart devices. It can work on battery or mains power and you can order the gadget in different colors.

3. Volla Phone 22 – privacy-friendly smartphone

For who likes the idea of an Android phone without Google combined with a minimalistic interface
What is it?
Everything you look up on the internet and your location are tracked by Google every minute. On Android, you can actually only stop Google’s location tracking if you restrict the operation of your phone. The Volla Phone 2 offers a version of Android that comes without the Play Store and Google services and with alternatives, known as AOSP.
The Volla Phone 22 has its own software shell that is very minimalistic and comes with a smart search function. It scans the internet together with the apps and files on your smartphone. Storage is encrypted on the device and you can also optionally use the pre-installed VPN. On the other hand, you can also ask to deliver the smartphone not with Android, but with Ubuntu Touch (Linux).
The Volla Phone 2 features a 6.3-inch Full HD LCD panel, a MediaTek Helio G85 chipset, 4 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. The main camera has a 48 MP sensor and there is also a 16 MP wide-angle camera. Finally, the Volla Phone 22 has a 4,500 mAh battery and there is a 3.5 mm audio jack. 4. Buddie – Ear Cleaning Tool

What is it?
Buddie is a 5-in-1 tool with which you can clean your ears. First of all, there is a metal pin to remove dirt from deep grooves. In addition, the Buddie comes with a hard brush for coarse dirt, a soft brush, a refillable cleaning gel and finally a microfibre brush. The latter attracts dirt thanks to static electricity in the hard-to-reach places.

Think of this with crowdfunding
Keep in mind that with crowdfunding you always primarily support an idea, with no real guarantee that the actual product will meet your expectations. So choose the projects and start-ups that you really believe in and follow the regular updates on development and shipping that the start-ups communicate. Supporting projects through crowdfunding is therefore not the same as shopping.
