15 years ago you still had to explain how to use an iPhone, which is a matter of course today. After all, as is well known, two fingers are enough for this. But who knows that a third finger can be quite useful after all? We briefly explain Apple’s hidden “finger games”.

If you are not told, you will probably never find out about the following tip. Everyone knows the normal gestures on the iPhone: tap, swipe and pinch two fingers apart or together. You don’t have to explain anything these days. However In certain cases, three fingers can also be used to do something on the iPhone under iOS. Already knew?

Secret tip for the iPhone: Apple’s unknown three-finger gestures

No? Then read on now. Those are useful Three-finger gestures, especially when used with text editing on the iPhone, so much has already been revealed in advance. There are a total of 5 actions that you should try out.

Also good to know: In the video we explain how to take snapshots of the iPhone screen:

  • Show toolbar: When entering text, simply tap into the text field with 3 fingers. A practical toolbar then appears floating at the top of the iPhone screen. Depending on our selection, we can use it to undo the previous action, cut, copy, paste or redo the operation.

But even without a toolbar, we can use gestures to trigger the functions, here’s how…

  • revoke input: Quickly tap twice on the display with three fingers or alternatively swipe to the left with the three fingers.
  • Repeat entry: For the opposite case, we simply swipe to the right with our three fingers.

More finger gestures

For the following two actions, the iPhone display should ideally be a little larger, or your own fingers should be a little more delicate, because a bit of skill is advisable.

  • Copy selection: Same as the normal pinch gesture, but with three fingers. In other words, place three fingers on the display with a little distance and then pull them together.
  • Paste from clipboard: Now the reverse case, for which we put three fingers close together and then spread them apart.
