YouTube launches its tipping system (Super Thanks) in France
Super Thanks, aka YouTube’s tipping system disembark this week in 68 new countries, including France. The service was first announced last year, with US availability first.
Arrival of tips on YouTube in France
The Super Thanks is not to be confused with the Super Cat. The latter allows a user who watches a live stream on YouTube to pay a certain amount of money for their comment to be highlighted, so that the YouTuber can spot it. A portion of a Super Chat’s proceeds goes into YouTuber’s pockets. The idea is similar with Super Thanks (YouTube takes 30% commission), except that it concerns “classic” videos here and not lives.
Here too, a Super Thanks stands out with the commentary that stands out. There is also a GIF as a bonus. The price is between 2 and 50 dollars. French prices are not communicated, but it is quite possible that it is between 2 and 50 euros.
YouTubers who want something new must activate Super Thanks support from their YouTube Studio space. This is a simple setting, they don’t have to configure anything special. Also, an important element is that they are part of the YouTube partner program. This allows you to display advertisements during the videos and to be paid.
