You will soon no longer need a Pro model for this

The two inexpensive standard models of the future iPhone 15 will receive a really good upgrade from Apple in the fall. Not only is the “Dynamic Island” of the iPhone 14 Pro (Max) finally adopted, the camera sensor with 48 megapixels is no longer an exclusive and expensive Pro feature.

Bringing this good news is industry expert Jeff Pu of Haitong Intl Tech Research. This and other findings are based on Apple’s supplier circles. As a result, Apple is planning massive camera upgrade for iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus (source: 9to5Mac).

iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus get 48MP camera

In contrast to the almost unchanged hardware of the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus compared to the iPhone 13, the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus should really hit the market in 2023. Both variants now get one 3-level camera sensor with a 48-megapixel wide-angle lens – previously a feature of the two Pro models. However, what will still be missing is the telephoto lens with optical zoom and the LiDAR scanner. Anyone who wants all of this will have to resort to the expensive Pro versions in the future.

The 48 MP camera has so far been reserved for Apple’s Pro models:

Pu also confirms the rumored USB-C port and A16 chip for the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus. Both features that have been floating around in the rumor mill before. Bottom line: The iPhone 15 and the iPhone 15 Plus will be much more attractive and could go down much better with customers than their two predecessors.

The iPhone 15 will look something like this:

Apple’s Pro models made of titanium instead of stainless steel

But the expert also spoke up about the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max and confirmed a number of expected functions and features. Including the novel periscope camera with extended optical zoom, the A17 chip with 3 nanometer technology, 8 GB RAM, USB-C and a titanium frame instead of stainless steel. Likewise, virtual volume and power buttons with haptic feedback are no longer a fantasy.

What we can expect from Apple in 2023:

And then Pooh also tells him right away Release date for Apple’s iPhone 15. According to him, the models should be available in Apple stores from September 23, 2023. What would be a little surprising, after all, a Saturday instead of the classic Friday. Ergo: In our opinion, the expert is wrong when it comes to the appointment, even if only just. September 22 is more likely.
