Anyone who has always wanted to experience Mario Kart in real life can contact a team building company in the Netherlands!

For anyone who does not feel like traveling to Japan for Super Nintendo World, there is now an alternative in the Netherlands. From this autumn, The Team Building in Utrecht will be offering an indoor Mario Kart track for fans of the legendary racing game. And while drivers avoid obstacles with the electric karts, The Team Building evades any copyright claims from Nintendo!

Mario Kart in the Netherlands

The idea behind the concept called House of Karts is ultimately to make team building fun. The Mario Kart track, located in Utrecht (Netherlands), is suitable for anyone over 14 years old. It’s not about finishing as fast as possible, but about getting the most points.

You do this, among other things, by stabbing your opponents. You can pick up ‘weapons’ and shoot at each other. It is not entirely clear how exactly you do that. The company does explain that the karts themselves, for example, recognize boosts on the track and accelerate automatically. When someone is hit by a virtual banana peel, they slow down.

The track is decorated with Mario Kart-like decorations, without the company from the Netherlands getting a possible lawsuit on their pants. Mario is never mentioned by name. But it is clear that the team building company took inspiration from the iconic plumber. The track will open from this autumn. A heat costs € 17.50 per person, but you get a discount for more heats.
