The graphic and mechanical basis of the game is an internet meme of the same name with a cat named Oatmeal in the lead role. Her original standard image was “photo-shocked” into a form with a wide-open mouth and alternating these two images since then it has ended up as a basis for many videos and static jokes. At the beginning of this year, this meme moved to another dimension – gaming. The game PopCat is primarily located on the website popcat.click and its principle is really completely trivial. For each click and opening of the cat’s mouth, the player gets one point. These are added to the ranking of countries according to IP addresses, so you can automatically feel like a representative.
Does that sound completely silly? Clearly. But a deeper dynamic of this primitive game is added, for example, by the immediate change in the score in the mentioned ranking of countries.
