Xplora releases children’s smartwatches in the Netherlands: motivates to move

Smartwatches are not only intended for adults, that is the thoughts of the Norwegian manufacturer Xplora. The manufacturer releases two smartwatches for children in the Netherlands. It should motivate children to exercise more.

The smartwatches should encourage children to exercise more, and with that they can earn nice extras. By moving more, coins can be earned, which can be spent on, for example, Nintendo Switch, LEGO or trampoline, the manufacturer reports. For example, the Goplay platform is used to collaborate with companies from the film and animation world, such as for Dora.

In the Netherlands, the Xplora X5 Play and XGO2 are released. Both can be called via the 4G network. Kids stay in touch with their parents and other approved numbers. There is also an SOS button and text messages, photos and emojis can be received and sent. At school there is the concentration mode so that children are not disturbed. There is a GPS chip present in the watch and also a camera that allows them to share photos with approved contacts.

The Xplora X5 Play costs 169.99 euros and is for sale at Amazon. You can also go to the same store for the Xplora XGO2, which will cost you 119.99 euros.
